Ernesto Mercado Montero is a grad student in the Caribbean Cultural Studies program in the State University of New York at Buffalo. He was born in Bogotá Colombia and was raced in Chinú, a small town in the Colombian Caribbean. Being a teenager he moved to Madrid, Spain, when he graduated in Spanish Literature, Latin American Literature and Linguistics at the Universidad Complutense.
His academic interests are Transnationality and Creolization in the Caribbean and Latin America, Literary Criticism, French and German theory and philosophy, as well as the relationship between literature and music in Latin America. Currently he is also collaborating as a translator in some projects developed by professors of SUNY at Buffalo.
Joshua Samuel Newman:
Joshua is a grad student in the Caribbean Cultural Studies program at the University at Buffalo. He was born has lived most of his live in Upstate, NY and received B.A. in Anthropology from the University at Buffalo in 2009. His academic interests revolve around Underwater Archaeology, Maya Civilization, Histories of the New World, Contact Zones of Cultures, and Interpretations of Cenotes and Caves of the Yucatan. He is currently working on projects in Underwater Archaeology with faculty members from the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán in Mérida, Mexico.
Miguel Núñez May:
Miguel Núñez May es estudiante de la licenciatura en Literatura Latinoamericana por la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán, en México. Nacido en Cozumel, Quintana Roo en el Caribe Mexicano.
Entre sus intereses académicos se encuentra la literatura de Reinaldo Arenas, Literatura Yucateca, Nuevas perspectivas del análisis literario, cultura pop. Actualmente es miembro del Consejo Editorial de la Revistas Andanzas y Tripulaciones de la Facultad de Ciencias Antropológicas de la UADY y se desempeña como corrector de estilo de la Revista Icor Cultural, versión digital.
